Matters Arising From The Last Meeting
Greenhill Rise Flats : These flats
Now have two bins but only one key to access them – not good – Ian Hopewell to be contacted. The people who installed the bins neglected to take any of the rubbish already in the bin store away with them.
Stairwell Farmstead Road Flats was cleaned but a dirty mop was used and you can tell that because every where the mop touched it left dirty marks behind
surely this should be addressed because what is the purpose of cleaning a dirty stairwell with dirty mops? The stairwell has been daubed where the graffiti was not painted. Anne Brown will chase the council on our behalf but Denise will minute Ian Hopewell also. The Car Park is still a mess and requires cleaning and re - tarmaccing.
The 3 large containers remain in the car park and we do not know what for – can the council do something about this. Denise to email.
Denise did email the council and contacted the police as the kids were playing in the red container that had no lock on it. Whilst she has had a reply about the graffiti she still has not received any mention of the containers. Ian Hopewell to be minuted on this matter also.
The Chinese Takeaway – Nothing appears to have been done and the smell is still the same since the new owners took the shop over. Peter Burrell is looking into this matter.
McColls – The rear of the shop is still a mess and they should be made to keep it clean and tidy also deliveries should be made at the back of the shops not the front and lorries should not be parking on the pavement at the front too and they do it daily. It was suggested that double yellow lines be put there to prevent any parking or bollards etc. Attendees to monitor and report to this meeting – Mary Butcher will forward any reports. Mary & Anne have been working with the council and McColls on this matter.
The Drying areas on Wedmore –
This has been completed.
Defensive Space – There is still one place with elderly occupants on
Wedmore Court yet to be done – still no news.
Becks Green – apparently there is some damage to the kiddies play area that needs attention.
Empty Garages – Please could attendees inform us as to where the empty garages are situated so as we can list them to the council and find out why they are losing revenue by not letting them.
Blandford Court has
one Bramber Court has 3 Angela Warburton is overseeing Garage Letting.
Apparently via JH there are 3 dog bins to be allocated to this area – If it is possible could the council recommend that all well used dog bins be emptied more often.
NEIGHBOURHOOD MANAGEMENT

9am – 5pm)
The Raffle raised £15.50

Jane Hornby – Contact 01536 464616
If you require large items taken away please contact the above number and Jane will endeavour to get them picked up.
CAR PARKING
There are still places that are desperate for additional parking –
Selsy Road, Falmer Walk, Wimbourne Walk/Chesil Walk Area,
Blandford Court,
York Road,
Birling Place and Weston Walk. 10 Places have been identified by the council and we are hopeful that some of those 10 are on the Beanfield Estate. We need to keep mentioning these gridlocked areas to get them in the public domain and keep the momentum going on this strategy. Have we any news of the areas to be done this year. Only 47K allocated for parking this year. We know Falmer Walk is a prioritised area this year.
AOB
We need more litter bins around our area Farmstead Road – Rufford Walk – Glastonbury near the park,
Ollerton Walk and Newark Drive, if anybody knows of a place that requires a bin let us know – We do suggest that a bin (postbox type) should be at every bus stop.
Recycling – Bungalows Greenhill Rise – There are too many bins for the residents to cope with can something be done?
Keir :- You can contact them on 464242 if you have any problems.
We need litter bins near the garage on the A6003.
Hazel Tree Pub :- The area has got a lot of weeds, graffiti and pigeon mess as this is a public area could we ask the council to keep it clean – the landlord tries his best but the council should do a better job. There has been a caged area erected for plants to prevent ball games – Has it helped – please let us know.
Grass Cutting – it has been noticed that several areas are cut more often and are kept tidier by the cutters – could we please have a more uniform cut throughout the borough.
Fairlight Court
– 1 Bin has been left unemptied
- Please report any bins left unemptied to this meeting.
Street Doctor :- 0845 601 1113 – To report Lights that are out – potholes in the roads etc
- You must provide either the lamp number or the address it is nearest to.
Birling Place – there are still potholes in this location reported by Frank and Barry at this meeting on several occasions.
Councillors Community Funding : Councillors on our estate have a project in mind and will expand on this at our next meeting.
Street Signs – Street signs in the area – many have graffiti on them please let us know if there are any in your area so we can compile a list for the council to address.
Signs already reported are Heathfield Walk, Plumpton Court Falmer Walk,
Ashurst Crescent and
Handcross Court.
Many roads on the Beanfield Estate – Need resurfacing – in fact all of them need doing – the meeting could not think of one that wasn’t in need of attention.
Corby
One Care – Kerb dropping in the area – let us know where we need dropped kerbs.
The Phoenix Pub Plans have been withdrawn – the next meeting on this will be mid to end October.
