Matters Arising From The Last Meeting
Greenhill Rise Flats : These flats
keys to access them – Ian Hopewell took the rubbish already in the bin store away with him – well done Ian – Thanks also Natasha Bell. Apparently the bin store is not safe to use – so the bins are now left outside.
Stairwell Farmstead Road Flats was cleaned a bit better this time. The stairwell graffiti is still to be addressed. Anne Brown will chase the council on our behalf but Denise will minute Ian Hopewell also. The Car Park is still a mess and requires cleaning and re - tarmaccing. One container has been removed.
The Chinese Takeaway – Nothing appears to have been done and the smell is still the same since the new owners took the shop over. Peter Burrell is looking into this matter.
McColls – The rear of the shop is still a mess – There are still vans parking at the front of McColls (Evening Telegraph van spotted there) Mary Butcher will forward any reports. Mary & Anne have been working with the council and McColls on this matter.
Defensive Space – There is still one place (No54) with elderly occupants on
Wedmore Court yet to be done – still no news.
Empty Garages : Please still report empty Garages
to this meeting.
Blandford Court
has
one Bramber Court has 3 Angela Warburton is overseeing Garage Letting.
Empty Properties : Still report these also – Apparently 1 Compton is still under repair as workmen have been there at least twice a week.
35 Sedgeberg Close has been boarded up for about 12 months.
One property on Selby – the foundations have to be underpinned.
Pot Holes :- Pot holes in Birling place are still not repaired – County to be contacted.
Dog Bins :- There are three new dog bins in the area but already they are not being emptied on a regular basis. There is no point in placing these dog bins and then not emptying them as they only get vandalised as the one on
Hemsley Way proves.
Becks Green – apparently there is some damage to the kiddies play area that needs attention.
Car Parking :-
Falmer Place is next in line to be done Selsy is also earmarked for extra parking soon. Funding still a problem. Ian Smith in charge of this problem which is town wide. Ian Tattersall liaising with all areas and Ian Smith.
Litter Bins – As mentioned every month for the past year we need more litter bins.
Bodium Place
leading to Steyning around the schools and shops and on the walkways from and to schools in the area .
Bins for Bungalows – Nothing has been done.

We need litter bins near the garage on the A6003.
Hazel Tree Pub :-
Needs a face lift as well as a good clean.
Grass Cutting – it has been noticed that several areas are cut more often and are kept tidier by the cutters – could we please have a more uniform cut throughout the borough.
Street Doctor :- 0845 601 1113 – To report Lights that are out – potholes in the roads etc
- You must provide either the lamp number or the address it is nearest to.
Councillors Community Funding : Councillors on our estate have a project in mind and will expand on this at our next meeting.
Street Signs – Street signs in the area – many have graffiti on them please let us know if there are any in your area so we can compile a list for the council to address.
Signs already reported are Heathfield Walk, Plumpton Court Falmer Walk,
Ashurst Crescent and
Handcross Court.
Many roads on the Beanfield Estate – Need resurfacing – in fact all of them need doing – the meeting could not think of one that wasn’t in need of attention.
Denise to write to the Telegraph complaining about the funding allocation by County.
Everyone can do the same to emphasise the point.
Corby
One Care – Kerb dropping in the area – let us know where we need dropped kerbs.
The
Phoenix Pub Plans : New plans have been submitted and approved ? We will keep the meeting updated.
Parking outside of schools at peak times :- Mark will have a talk to the schools on the subject.
Mark Bullock :- Minor Works Grant to every
County
Councillor – Mark has plenty of uses for his fund but would like the meeting to comment.

Grant Obtained :- Brenda Easton has obtained a grant for £17,000 to fence off the Becks Green Play Area work to commence soon – we will keep you informed.
Grant Obtained : - £5000 obtained by Anita Curtis for 2 outreach youth workers in the area :- we will keep you informed.
The Trip or Dance – nothing was decided
The meeting had to close as we had gone over our allotted time.
Next month will be our Xmas Raffle – as usual there will be plenty of prizes so hopefully everyone will leave with something.
